We heard about daily rituals, morning rituals, and all kinds of routines combined with healthy habits everywhere. Indeed, making your healthy habits a routine is important and that is why I call them ‘Daily Rituals’.
I don’t know if it has to do with the fact that I’m a Gemini and also a Sanguinicus, but I don’t vibe with the word routine as well as I do with the word Rituals, which I love by the way.
The thing with daily rituals is that they are unique and they’re constantly changing. You are a unique persona that is constantly moving and changing too. Therefore, you should holistically treat your daily rituals.
When we create our unique daily rituals we enter into a Holistic lifestyle.
Unboxing your daily rituals
We tend to put routines into boxes, which makes the energy of these routines stagnant and therefore unhealthy in many aspects.
After all, letting your daily rituals flow means letting the energy flow and that exactly what we need.
I recently watched the movie/ documentary “The biggest Little farm” ( a truly much watch documentary!) where the new farmers talked about the importance of creating harmony between the animals and the ground. This meant truly observe what nature wants and needs, and creating those changes. By Earth, I don’t mean just the ground under your feet, but I mean everything that lives on this Earth, including you.
Instead of having the animals boxed in one area, the vegetables in another area, and so on, they saw the importance of combining them all to create a healthy ecosystem. Even if it meant to combine them just for just a specific amount of time.
Ecosystem: a system, or a group of interconnected elements, formed by the interaction of a community of organisms with their environment.
That’s exactly what you want to do with your daily rituals, and actually with your life!
By creating your ecosystem you start living a holistic lifestyle.
Using the cycles
Daily routines may want to change with the seasonal cycles, or the phases of the Moon, and even with the phases of the day.
It’s important to check-in with your needs and incorporates them into your daily rituals.
When it’s best to check-in? Well, this is unique too and can vary from time to time. A few suggestions for check-in with your needs and the energy around you are:
- daily check-in –> first thing in the morning or before bed
- weekly check-in –> create a self-care day where you incorporate your check-in moment.
- Seasonal Check-in –> create a self-care moment early on the new season and add here your check-in moment
When working with daily rituals it’s important to keep in mind that the ego does not want to change. This is not because your ego is your enemy, but it’s simply a survival mechanism. We are just wired that way.
Look at your ego with compassion and feel and understand that it’s only your ego trying to protect you.
Our daily rituals help us untwined unhealthy patterns for healthy ones. In fact, our daily rituals need to be based on healthy habits.
To let your ego know that these habits are necessary and not dangerous, we need to do them daily so they get wired in our whole being. That’s why sometimes pushing through is necessary.
To know it is a new habit is for you just check-in with yourself after you’ve done it. Moreover, if you feel good afterward and maintain a good vibe through the day, then continue even then you don’t feel like it.
Also, you should feel good while you are in the midst of your daily ritual.
If not, then tweak it or change it completely.

Benefits of Daily Rituals
There are many benefits to Daily Rituals, and it’s best to find your own benefits while you do them.
Even so, I’d like to tell you of a few benefits of daily rituals:
- Stay motivated and on track with your intentions and goals for the short as well as long-term
- You connect with yourself holistically
- discover your inner power and be more in tune with your intuition
- You use your energy levels wisely
- Reflect your day-to day, your life and your own cycles.
There were several eye-opener sentences during the documentary, but the one that stuck because it just explained everything so clearly and applies to everything:
Because what is unique and in constant movement is never easy or perfect. But, if we let the energy flow and we are able to create a healthy ecosystem out of our lives, then life will become simple!
Hence, our daily rituals.
Keep in mind that what some else does in their daily rituals, may not be right for you. When you look at yourself holistically, you’ll discover your own goods and bads. You’ll be able to create and apply your own unique formulas.
But for now:
Discover your foundation and create from there your own daily rituals.
