In this blog post, I will tell you the #7 easiest ways to start living Intentionally. Living Intentional is a chapter on its own. When we start our journey on a Holistic Lifestyle, we often put our attention to what we eat and our exercise routine. But a Holistic Lifestyle is must more than that and Intentional Living has its own segmentation or capture.
The idea with Intentional Living is that you make it your own and follow your own rules. It’s already started in the name: how do you intend to live your life?
With intentional living, we add our dreams and our values, and we not only live by them but we create a plan on how to achieve our goals, our dreams, and desires. This is about living mindfully. We constantly check with ourselves about our intentions and if our actions match those intentions. By doing so we live in the now, and because we are alignment with our intentions we create our future.
#7 Easy ways to start Living Intentionally:
#1 ask yourself one question
- How do I want to feel today?
You don’t need to wait for the perfect moment. The reason you’re reading this blog post today is just enough of a clue.
#2 write your intentions on a journal, notebook or keep your pages in a binder
It’s important to be genuinely mindful when we start new habits. Therefore, I always recommend writing every new idea and activity you start in a journal, notebook or binder so you can keep track of them. The reason being that to incorporate new habits we need to keep track of them otherwise we will probably forget them.
Moreover, having a place where we keep our intentions keeps us motivated, even on those days we may not feel our best.
If you also want to work with the Moon, then you acquire the Moon journal on my Etsy Shop. The Moon journal guides you through the intentions process while connecting with the phases of the Moon. Whether you want to start your self-love journey or create achievable goals from your intentions, the Moon journal helps you to constantly work on them from a place of love, joy and not to forget determination. #3 creating a sacred space that works
You can keep it on your sacred space where you put more intention and extra umf making this place part of your intentions.
This sacred place will remind you and motivate you every time you see it. Making our intentions visible is probably the most important tool to truely live intentionally.
Below you can read how to create your own sacred space:
#4 using specific journaling Prompts
Have you ever had that feeling you knew something or felt something but couldn’t bring it into clear words?
Maybe you have that same feeling about being intentional with your life but you feel you need more clarity on what it exactly means to you and how to apply it into your day to day life.
In that case, answering a few specific questions – these are journal prompts – will help you along the way.
Make time to answer the following questions:
- What did I dream of as a child?
- Is there some connection to those dreams and the way I’m living my life today? If so, how? If not, why is that you think?
- What makes me unhappy/ unmotivated / feeling stuck? Explain as detailed as possible
- Is there some fear, anxiety related to question #3? If so, when did they started?
- What are you doing today to deal with those fears & anxiety?
# 5 Meditate
Meditate if possible daily.
Taking a moment to pause and just be, can take your day into a powerful and intentional life. If you’re new to meditation you can listen to a guided meditation. Youtube has many guided meditations. Just type guided meditation for beginners and choose one that resonates with you.
# 6 Start living a healthy Holistic lifestyle
You can have all the intentions of the world, but if you are not willing to take care of yourself and your body, your intentions will become stagnant rather of becoming a reality.
Being healthy is not just about the body, but it’s about you as a human being and your body is your vehicle. By keeping it in check, you will fuel all areas of your life and you’ll feel stronger not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well.
So, start by having a hard look at the health of your body and have a look at your kitchen/pantry. You know what’s not good you, so start to get rid of those things.
Next, if exercise hasn’t been a priority in your life, then make it a priority. If your body isn’t strong enough or your wallet wide enough, start small with low impact exercises at home. Again, YouTube is a great and free source for you to get you started, today!

#7 Connect nature's cycles to your intentions
Another aspect of living intentionally is checking with nature’s cycles. You see, we are part of nature and if we don’t observe and learn from planet Earth, we can involuntarily get caught in controlling and manipulating our desires into certain directions.
Life and nature are in constant ebb & flow from receiving and releasing. It’s a never-ending cycle and if we pay attention we see how this cycle of life applies to everything. Even to your desires, your goals, and your life.
Wanting to create a constant and equal balance where everything stays the same, and nothing is allowed to move, to flow is actually a receipt for disaster. The key to ‘have’ a certain balance is to flow throughout our wheel of life while respecting and accepting life. This doesn’t mean we cannot aim towards our desires. It’s more about finding that sweet & small middle between desires & ambition and accepting life at the same time. We act in our journey instead of just reacting.
Correspondingly, if we understand nature’s cycle we ‘know’ when and how to start with our intentions, when to work towards certain direction/goals, when to celebrate, to let go off, park ideas, projects and goals for a while, etc. In this way, we tap into the energies of seasons and phrases and use them to our advantage while respecting nature’s cycles and every living creature on the planet as well.
- We ride the cycles of life instead of controlling them
I hope this blog post inspires you to live your life intentionally and hopefully, I have provided you with some ideas for you on how to get you started. As you begin this journey, you’ll discover more about yourself and even let your intuition give you signs along the way. After a while, you will trust & listen to your own wisdom rather than listening and following others. Their journey is not yours!
